47 Years
On this day 47 years ago, my parents were married. In-love, not knowing what the future would hold, they promised to take each other to have and to hold from that day forward for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; in sickness and in health. They promised to be faithful partners, love and cherish each other and be supportive of each other. They promised to honor and respect each other. They promised to take each other with each other’s strengths and faults. They promised to help each other and to turn to each other for help. They made this vow to each other 47 years ago as a promise to keep for all the days of their lives.
They have held true to these vows. It has not always been blissful and fun. There have been challenges, but with each one of these challenges, my parent’s bond became stronger. They made it work and continue to choose to love and support each other. I admire their fortitude and their love for each other. They are AMAZING role models.
The greatest lessons I have learned from them to make a marriage work is keeping communication lines open and keep it passionate. They cared enough to keep it going. They never gave up on each other, even in the heat of an argument. As long as they kept the discussion going, their bond could only get stronger. It is like building muscles, you have to break them down to build them up stronger. My parents are AWESOME. I am grateful and blessed to have them in my life.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
May God bless you with many more
wonderful memories and
blissful moments as you continue
on your life’s journey together.
I love you!
