a tickle of words to create smiles

What is perfectionism, really? It is a disguise, a mask. Perfectionism is a cloak that hides one’s self-perceived flaws. It is a fear…a fear of not being good enough. It is a fear that our authentic selves will not be accepted. Imagine how people’s lives could be if they could let go of this mask.

It would be liberating and empowering. People could be themselves and do things without fear. So what if it is not perfect. Fear not! Just do it!!! Just be yourself. As Dr. Seuss expressed, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”

  1. A reliability of perfectionism is a sign of thinking one is self fulfilling. It is a lack of knowing someone is Higher and more powerful than you.

  2. So much wisdom in those ‘chlidrens’ books!

  3. I love the Dr. Seuss quote. Perfectionism is overrated. I wrote a blog about this when they said they didn’t want to be mediocre.
